Non-Surgical Procedures

Dr. Andrew B. Denton, Facial Plastic Surgeon

Over time, repeated muscular contractions such as frowning, smiling and squinting will cause lines known as "dynamic wrinkles" to form on the face. Botox™ works by relaxing the muscles that cause these dynamic wrinkles thereby giving the face a smoother and more refreshed appearance. The procedure is performed in an outpatient setting with absolutely no down time.

During a treatment small amounts of Botox™ are precisely placed into the muscle responsible for causing each wrinkle or line. The effects develop over 3 to 4 days and usually last 3 to 4 months, at which time another injection is required.

Botox™ is an excellent treatment option for wrinkles between the eyebrows ("frown lines" or "glabellar lines"), on the forehead and around the eyes ("laugh lines" or "crows feet"). In some cases Botox™ can be used to provide a subtle browlift, to soften vertical lines on the upper lip and to treat muscular bands in the neck and dimpling of the chin.

Botox™ is also an excellent treatment for excessive perspiration or hyperhidrosis as well as tension and migraine headaches.

Dr. Denton has safely treated thousands of patients with Botox™ and performs each injection himself - ensuring each patient the best possible outcome.
